Trainings
We welcome players of any level, age, background and experience at our open sessions. We believe volleyball is for everyone, whether you'd like to play recreationally or competitively.
We have separate trainings for juniors, adults, and advanced players. All trainings are held at the Sportspark at the University of East Anglia or at Easton College (see below for further location information).
For more information on membership, club policies and child protection, please read the About Spikers page.

All sessions are by invitation only. Please contact us to be added to the invite list.
Junior sessions
Young people between the ages of 11 and 18 are expected at the junior sessions.
- Boys and girls under 18 years of age: every Wednesday between 19:00 and 20:40 at UEA Sportspark
Adult sessions
The adult sessions are primarily aimed at players over 18 years of age, but coaches may decide to let juniors of sufficient skill levels attend (and when they do, they usually prove to be formidable opponents).
The adult trainings are split into a fun-oriented open session for all, and more advanced sessions for the Local League and National League teams plus invited guests. Attendance at the advanced sessions is at the discretion of our coaches, if you think you are an advanced player then please let us know, we may request that you attend the open session so we can assess your ability.
Wednesdays
- Open Session (including beginners and anyone who wants to play for fun): every Wednesday between 20:40 and 22:20 at UEA Sportspark
- Men's and Women's Advanced Training: every Tuesday, alternating between 19:30 to 20:50 and 20:50 to 22:15 at Easton College
- Women's National League Training: every Wednesday at UEA Sportspark, between 20:40 and 22:20
- Men's National League Training: every Wednesday at UEA Sportspark, between 20:40 and 22:20
Competitions
We also provide the option to compete in leagues organised by the Norfolk Volleyball Association, these usually run on Friday evenings at UEA Sportspark. Development League is targeted at beginners, whilst the Local and Regional Leagues cater to the more advanced players.
What you need
There is no need for any special equipment - just wear stable shoes and comfy clothes that don't restrict your movement. If you are new to volleyball you might prefer to wear a long sleeved t-shirt in order to protect your forearms from fast balls.
Some players like to use kneepads and elbow pads so they can fully commit to dives when playing on hard flooring, but diving is certainly not a minimum requirement!
Knowledge of volleyball rules and team dynamics is not required. Our coaches will help you with progressing your volleyball skills.
