Meet our Committee:
Ann-Marie Matthews - Secretary, Head Coach, and Data Protection Officer
I have been playing volleyball for 16 years now and started while I was at university. Volleyball is my passion and I feel that we are lucky in Norwich to be part of the largest volleyball club in the county. I currently play with Norfolk Ladies National league team as well as being one of the coaches of the Norwich Spikers team and also Secretary of the club. In my role as club secretary my main role is to receive and provide information effectively and ensure the smooth running of the club administration, including dealing with the memberships, correspondance and minute taking during committee meetings.

Sarah-Jane Ashford - Treasurer
Hi, my name is Sarah-Jane, I'm Treasurer of the Norwich Spikers Volleyball Club and I coach the women. I began playing volleyball at Aberystwyth University and haven't stopped since! I train as often as possible and play for a number of teams competing in the National League, Eastern Region and Local league. Due to the fact I am 6ft tall, as you'd expect, I am usually a middle player!

Emily Keel - Chairwoman, Club Welfare Officer, and Junior Coach
My name is Emily but to most I'm known as Keel. I am a coach and club welfare officer. I have always been a keen member of sports teams and clubs taking on many roles and responsibilities over my years of playing, teaching and coaching sport. I have coached and worked with all ages and abilities both with volleyball and across a variety of different sports too alongside gaining a collection of qualifications and more importantly experience. Ever since trying volleyball at university I have savoured all the wonderful memories surrounding volleyball and the people who play it. As club welfare office it is my role to help and support the under 18 members of our club. I look forward to helping contribute towards what I hope will be a very successful and fun season ahead. |
Peter Moore - Funding Coordinator
My name is Pete and I am currently in my 2nd year as Funding officer having been chairman for 2 years previously. My main focus this year for funding is applying again for funding via the Aviva community fund where we have previously been successful in securing money.
I have enjoyed watching the club grow over the last few years and I am actively involved in coaching (beginners, Men’s and Mixed) and playing/captaining the Men’s 2nd Team (Infernos) and Mixed (Spikers Mixfits). Outside of Volleyball I work for Aviva and have a keen passion for dancing, travelling, other sports, and cooking. |
Paul Johnston - Web Developer
I started playing volleyball when some friends invited me to join a Norwich Spikers training session and have since played in some of the development league and local league teams. It's good exercise and a great way to meet new people! My job on the committee is to manage the web site and make any changes necessary to keep it up to date.

Wojciech Szustakiewicz - Junior Coach and Development League Co-ordinator
Joel Matthews - Junior Coach
I currently coach both the boys and girls Spikers U16 development squads, working to develop the junior performance pathway for the club. I am also assistant coach for the England Cadet Boys and play for the Spikers mens NVL team. I began playing and coaching Volleyball at the University of Nottingham, holding roles as a club president and HEVO for Volleyball England.

Charlie Wilkinson - Social Media
I first played volleyball socially at the University of Nottingham around 2018 before graduating during lockdown. I found Spikers when volleyball began again in 2021, playing in the adults development league side. I currently compete in mixed and men's local league teams for Spikers, playing outside and libero respectively.
Off the court I run the club's Instagram and Facebook, creating content to promote all the fantastic opportunities the club has to offer as well as showcasing our successes from a development league level to regional and national competitions. |
