Dear all,
For those of you who attend the adult intermediate session at CNS school on a Monday this is just a reminder that the sessions start again on this coming Monday 30th June. Hope you can all make it, Ann-Marie. Dear all,
For those of you who attend, don't forget that the junior sessions at CNS school start again this coming Monday (30th June) from 4.45pm - 6.15pm. This week you have the delights of me taking the session as Emily is away.....but don't let that put you off from coming!!! Hope to see you all there. See you soon, Ann-Marie. Dear Spikers, after our recent AGM we have some exciting new changes to your committee to announce, but first we have some sad news. We will be saying “Cheerio” to our resident Funding Officer Eileen Gallagher and Junior Welfare Officer Frances Arnold. They both went far and beyond the duties of their respective roles. On a personal note, I will greatly miss hearing Eileen’s signature cheer from wherever I am in the Sportspark, and I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say I’ll miss your support from the side lines during our matches. On behalf of everyone at Spikers and myself, I would like to thank you for all your hard work and support, and wish you both my sincerest best wishes in all your future endeavours. In other news here’s this year’s committee.
One last note, as members of the Norwich Spikers club, I’d like to invite YOU to share any ideas, concerns or questions you may have, with any of the committee members. We will do our best to help any way we can.
Scott Beech Publicity Officer On Saturday the 28th of June Pick & Mix officially starts for the summer! "So what is it?" I hear you cry.Well it’s an outdoor friendly league held every Saturday morning at 10.30 in Eaton Park. If the weather looks bad then please remember to check the Spikers Facebook page for up-to-date information, it may be cancelled if it’s raining a lot, or if we have extremely high winds. "So do I need a team to enter?"No, it’s done on a purely individual basis, each week players will turn up and randomly be put into teams, after the first round of games have been played (each game being just 1 set) the teams will then be mixed up to create new random teams and so on. Each player on the winning team of each game will be awarded
At the end of all the matches each player’s points will be totalled, recorded and carried over to the next week giving us a league table. At the end of the season fabulous prizes await those who do well! Because this is open to anyone regardless of age, skill or ability I will be drawing players from 2 different “hats”, players at beginner / development league level and players at local league and above level. This will ensure that teams are as balanced as can be, and that there is never an instance where a team of beginners is playing a team of local league players. I hope to see you all there.
